Sport

Our PE department takes great pride in ensuring that students are given the platform to develop their skills and talent beyond the classroom. At KS4 we offer extra-curricular opportunities such as rock climbing, kayaking, and canoeing.

We field a large number of teams in a range of sports, and students participate regularly in local and national competitions and tournaments. We are proud of our sporting successes including both our current Year 9 and 10 football teams completing an incredible league and cup double.

There are many things to learn through extra-curricular activities including time management and prioritising. Furthermore being involved in teams can help students to develop soft skills such as problem solving, communicating effectively and working in a team.

This year at TOAN we have had success in badminton, with students finishing second overall in Oldham. Other notable successes include a number of our students receiving Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the annual Oldham Schools athletics competition, our year 8 cricket team reaching the semi-final of the cricket cup, and placing third in the Oldham schools “Got to Dance” competition.
