TOAN celebrates excellent results for the class of 2019!
The Oldham Academy North is delighted to announce another fantastic set of GCSE results where our largest ever cohort, by over 40 students, has surpassed previous cohorts in many areas. Staff and students are celebrating an overall increase in the percentage and number of students gaining grades 9-4 in English and maths, with 25 additional students in comparison to 2018.
Not only is this a fantastic achievement but our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) have seen an increase of 22% and our Looked After students have seen an outstanding increase of 50% at 9-4. An excellent 301 9 -7 grades were achieved throughout the academy and every student has left with at least one Level 2 qualification.
The academy is incredibly proud of all its students with some outstanding personal performances from: Mahimun Hossain, achieving 10 grades 9-7; Anika Hossain, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s and Ben Branford achieving 8 grades 9 – 7.

“It is testament to the hard work of our students and academy staff that so many students have achieved such brilliant GCSE results. The entire academy community is brimming with pride today as we celebrate together this wonderful set of key stage 4 results.
Our mission statement is all about being a TEAM and allowing students to leave us ready to contribute to the competitive world around us, and with increased results, I firmly believe that TEAMTOAN can be very proud. The class of 2019 and the very hard-working staff team have again performed superbly.
The academy is growing again this September, with 218 students leaving us but over 300 joining our Year 7 group, the future is very exciting! The team have again reflected on our forward-thinking curriculum which will be highly engaging for all students, and not to forget, we open our multi-million pound extension with state of the art facilities too.”
